Katie's most vivid childhood memories happened outside: hiding under honeysuckle bushes, following the creek until it met the Pearl River, pulling pine catkins apart for her make-believe salad topping, and playing house at the top of the Magnolia tree. Since becoming a mother, Katie has made it her personal mission to get kids back outside. She encourages risky play, mess-making, and uses the art of questioning to lead children to find their own answers. Katie loves nothing more than getting dirty in the trenches of learning with young explorers.
